Philosophical Framework and Strategic Approach:
The general consensus regarding the mission of Harm Reduction Homes begins with creating a safe, structured, and supportive housing space that is designed for the most vulnerable of society (e.g., homeless substance abusers). The below highlights St. Irie s attempt to create a safe, structured, and supportive housing program. The below seeks to ground and guide towards effectively executing the three mentioned missional aims.

Safety

Substance Free Environment (Reds/Canery)

  • Recite Rules via the Ten Commandments of the house! completing.
  • Random Drug Testing (meet with Dr. John).
  • Random Searches *(MOU with Jordan, has security exp.) start 1st week in Aug.(Complete MOU for security, send to CW).
  • Regular Check-Ins – Explore how they are doing. (V and B)

Judgment-free zone (add to commandments)

Structure

Scheduled Information:

  • Educational and Vocational readiness (ie, computer training, workforce training, etc) (way to id list of needs) ask Brian to put together a list weekly of educational and vocational needs to be given to Reds۔
  • Provide weekly reminders as to information board that will be in all houses containing education, e.g from community colleges, vocational training,
  • workforce development (every client needs their own wfd counselor)and misc.
  • Inspiration (CW TBD)
